The Netherlands fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-3. 35 minutes into the match, Netherlands's goalkeeper Arnout Reekers had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Timur Sarphan. Ahmet Vefik Safa made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Wim Wilmes in the 37th minute of play. After 39 minutes of play, Doğanyurt FK's Ahmet Ozan Demiray made it 2-3 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Arnout Reekers was left in no man's land by his defense there! The supporters of Netherlands booed when Doğanyurt FK was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 42 match minutes in a wonderful position. Dobromir Kaszubik didn't get a good kick on the ball. Ahmet Vefik Safa took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gustaaf Groeneveldt, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The Doğanyurt FK players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Netherlands were winning 2-4.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Gijsbert ter Kruimer stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Ahmet Ozan Demiray in the 58th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Arnout Reekers prevented the ball from getting in the gole. 59 minutes had been played when some careless play by Netherlands's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Baran Uğuş was slow to take the kick. During this time Doğanyurt FK's players had a chance to rest. A nice corner shot did that Baran Uğuş got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Arnout Reekers quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. Ahmet Vefik Safa made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gustaaf Groeneveldt in the 61st minute of play. In the 63rd minute, Ahmet Korkut Akçay hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Ahmet Vefik Safa was a little too slow when Gijsbert ter Kruimer got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 64th minute. The score was now 2-5. Doğanyurt FK's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Netherlands the free kick.
