The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Ilkka Markkula took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Tomás Angel, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Yan Zhi Chuan in the 5th minute of play forced Conjunto Paisa's goalkeeper Lev Yashin to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Conjunto Paisa's Lev Yashin proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 7th minute of the match, managed to save Conjunto Paisa from getting a goal against them. The Conjunto Paisa fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. 16 minutes into the match, Club Deportes Santa Cruz's goal looked a bit too open when Fix Zubiaur came free, but Ilkka Markkula reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 18 minutes had been played when some careless play by Club Deportes Santa Cruz's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. 魏誉正 was slow to take the kick. During this time Conjunto Paisa's players had a chance to rest. After taking down the ball on Conjunto Paisa's corner 魏誉正 fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Ilkka Markkula quite easily take care of the ball. Lev Yashin made a fantastic save in the 35th minute, when Podador Raheiro sent off a good shot on target. In the 36th minute, Hüseyin Rahmi Toper hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Club Deportes Santa Cruz's Ilkka Markkula played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Harriet Basabe in the 37th minute of play. 柳烨平 was astounded when the referee showed him the red card after a seemingly innocent challenge, 40 minutes into the match. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 39th minute of the game. One of Conjunto Paisa:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Club Deportes Santa Cruz:s goal. Lev Yashin showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Raimundo Tupper in the 45th minute of the match. After the first half Conjunto Paisa were leading 1-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

54 minutes into the match, Trayko Gradinarski notched a goal, 2-2, to the right of Conjunto Paisa's Lev Yashin. Lev Yashin was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. In the 56th match minute, Conjunto Paisa was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Tomás Angel to maneuver through the defense. Lev Yashin took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Marcus Edström, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Harriet Basabe didn't get a good kick on the ball. 82 minutes into the match, Marcus Edström notched a goal, 3-2, to the right of Conjunto Paisa's Lev Yashin.
