Alan Rezek's late challenge caught a Wrexham A.F.C.'s player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Alan Rezek helped the player get up and apologised. A collision led to Czech Republic getting a freekick after 11 minutes play. Alan Rezek hit a great ball. With an all-out effort, Wrexham A.F.C.'s Vavrinec Holub threw himself towards the right post 13 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Adrian Söderberg, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. 14 minutes into the match, Czech Republic's goal looked a bit too open when Ivar Aleberg came free, but Vavrinec Holub reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Wrexham A.F.C.'s Elof Mellbad shoveled away a really nice long shot in the 20th minute of play. The shot was stopped by Vavrinec Holub but with some difficulty. In the 24th minute, David Rusil hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The audience thought a goal was coming when Sture Åhlberg got free with Vavrinec Holub in the 26th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After having played for 28 minutes, Sture Åhlberg managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Wrexham A.F.C.'s supporters crossed their fingers, but Sture Åhlberg was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After 31 played minutes Czech Republic got a freekick which was hit by Bohumir Kohout. Sture Brolin was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 33rd played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. Sture Åhlberg's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Vavrinec Holub firmly grabbed it by the left post. When Ivar Aleberg came up free with the goalie in the 36th minute, the Wrexham A.F.C. fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Ivar Aleberg couldn't finish the play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Ivar Aleberg got free with Vavrinec Holub in the 37th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. A collision led to Czech Republic getting a freekick after 38 minutes play. Alan Rezek hit a great ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Sture Åhlberg in the 40th minute of play forced Czech Republic's goalkeeper Vavrinec Holub to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Göran Utfal's late challenge caught a Czech Republic's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. In the 44th minute David Rusil shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Esbjörn Forssell saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Erik Jilek stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. The audience was convinced that Sture Åhlberg's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Vavrinec Holub was relentless in the 67th minute of the game. Alan Rezek fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 70th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Esbjörn Forssell having to interfere. Adrian Söderberg took the ball and in the 72 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Vavrinec Holub. Vavrinec Holub dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-0. The audience thought a goal was coming when Alan Rezek got free with Esbjörn Forssell in the 75th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. David Rusil kicked well hit freekick during the 76th minute of the match. After having played for 84 minutes, Ivar Aleberg managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Wrexham A.F.C.'s supporters crossed their fingers, but Ivar Aleberg was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 90thth minute of the game Sture Åhlberg who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Czech Republic's Vavrinec Holub was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Vavrinec Holub showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Sture Åhlberg, who was totally free with the ball in the 94th minute. Vavrinec Holub showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Sture Åhlberg in the 96th minute of the match. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. Wrexham A.F.C. had played much better football throughout.
