With an extended leg and a bit of luck Tanek Nakoneczny prevented the ball from getting in the gole. When the match had gone on for 63 minutes, David Aranda put it in 0-2 from a short distance just to the right of Tanek Nakoneczny. An unexpectedly hard shot by Lóránt Hoffman in the 67th minute of play forced Spain's goalkeeper Gabriel Ascaso to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball.
