With a couple of smart ball manuevers Long Samast in the 4th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Leo Gelmiro saved Pegaso from getting behind. Pegaso's Leo Gelmiro played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Long Samast in the 6th minute of play. In the 10th minute Tomé Brasil shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Leo Gelmiro saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Fynn John showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Lino Edorta, who was totally free with the ball in the 11th minute. After a rather tough play, Atlético Mineiro's Benê Rodrigues got a free kick in the 35th minute. Benê Rodrigues might have been able to make a better finish in the 37th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Leo Gelmiro. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Benê Rodrigues ran back to his position shaking his head. A collision led to Pegaso getting a freekick after 40 minutes play. Jairo Valery hit a great ball. Pegaso's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Amador Vachon in the 45th minute. Pegaso's Amador Vachon spiked a well placed long shot which went just inside the left pole, with no chance at all for Fynn John. Resulting in a 1-1 score after 45 minutes. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 1-1 after a close first half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell André Luís Best to make the kick off. Fynn John took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Lino Edorta, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When Lino Edorta came up free with the goalie in the 60th minute, the Pegaso fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Lino Edorta couldn't finish the play. Atlético Mineiro made a substitution. Agostinho Faria replaced Waclaw Olchowy. 81 minutes into the match, Jaime Haitz notched a goal, 2-2, to the right of Atlético Mineiro's Fynn John. Fynn John was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Leo Gelmiro made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Agostinho Faria in the 85th minute of play. Leo Gelmiro showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from André Luís Best, who was totally free with the ball in the 91st minute. Benê Rodrigues could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 92nd minute of the match, but Leo Gelmiro made a huge save. 93 minutes into the match, Atlético Mineiro's goal looked a bit too open when Jairo Valery came free, but Fynn John reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Flávio Paraense's late challenge caught a Pegaso's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Flávio Paraense helped the player get up and apologised. Jeers came from both ends of the stadium when the final whistle went. Neither team had looked impressive and the draw seeemd a fair result.
