Turabi Özver recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 3rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Mümin Beşer during the 6th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. A collision led to Denizli United getting a freekick after 6 minutes play. Mümin Beşer hit a great ball. In the 7th minute of the match Pavol Koleno shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Ahmet Refik Mengüç showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Kornel Jahoda kicked well hit freekick during the 9th minute of the match. Slovakia's Henrich Slany played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Turabi Özver in the 11th minute of play. Slovakia's Henrich Slany proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 17th minute of the match, managed to save Slovakia from getting a goal against them. 20 minutes into the game, Oliver Holub cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-1. Ahmet Refik Mengüç was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Metod Mlynar scored 0-2 in the 27th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Ahmet Refik Mengüç, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. The audience thought a goal was coming when Turabi Özver got free with Henrich Slany in the 36th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Turabi Özver came free with the goalkeeper in the 37th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Henrich Slany could save by the left post. The Denizli United players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Slovakia were winning 0-2.

Slovakia's Henrich Slany played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Namık Kemal Taylan in the 53rd minute of play. In the 57th minute of the game, Bahadır Rüşti landed unfortunately after trying to head the ball, and pulled a muscle in the back, so badly that he had to leave the field. Vavrinec Koleno was shown his second yellow card after 57 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match. Denizli United's Ali Nabi Hürsel was substituted for Bahadır Rüşti. The supporters of Denizli United booed when Slovakia was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 59 match minutes in a wonderful position. Vavrinec Koleno didn't get a good kick on the ball. If Metod Mlynar had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 62nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. The audience thought a goal was coming when Metod Mlynar got free with Ahmet Refik Mengüç in the 68th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After a rather tough play, Denizli United's Ali Orhan Satıkbuğra got a free kick in the 68th minute. Henrich Slany stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Turabi Özver's shot from short distance in the 74th minute. Metod Mlynar hit a great freekick 78 minutes into the match. Henrich Slany didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Denizli United. When the referee blew the final whistle jeers and boos were heard from the home team's supporters. They were angered to see Denizli United lose a match they had controlled from the kick-off.
