The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. In the 8th minute Zaccheo Andolina shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Olavo Henriques saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Flavio Vittori took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Godofredo Remigio, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Sigfrido Auletta in the 12th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Olavo Henriques saved Racing Club from getting behind. Racing Club's Olavo Henriques played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Zaccheo Andolina in the 14th minute of play. The supporters of Italy booed when Racing Club was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 15 match minutes in a wonderful position. Latif Sağman didn't get a good kick on the ball. Olavo Henriques made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Zaccheo Andolina in the 16th minute of play. In the 17th minute Godofredo Remigio shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Flavio Vittori saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Olavo Henriques showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Sigfrido Auletta, who was totally free with the ball in the 18th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Siricio Liotta in the 21st minute of play forced Racing Club's goalkeeper Olavo Henriques to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 22 minutes had been played when some careless play by Racing Club's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Sigfrido Auletta was slow to take the kick. During this time Italy's players had a chance to rest. Italy's Sigfrido Auletta was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Olavo Henriques in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. Zaccheo Andolina fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 31st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Olavo Henriques having to interfere. Olavo Henriques showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Zaccheo Andolina in the 37th minute of the match. In the 37th match minute, Racing Club was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Joaquin Uxio to maneuver through the defense. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Zaccheo Andolina in the 44th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Olavo Henriques saved Racing Club from getting behind. The first half was very even, with the score at 0-0 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Zaccheo Andolina made a kick off. Racing Club's Maksymilian Walaszkiewicz was substituted for Urbano Jago. A sloppy throw-in by Andres Felipo in the 59th minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by Italy's Siricio Liotta. After a defensive mix-up in Italy's zone, Godofredo Remigio stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Flavio Vittori came out of the goal and Godofredo Remigio tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Racing Club's George Orwel was substituted for Godofredo Remigio. After 68 played minutes Racing Club got a freekick which was hit by Maksymilian Walaszkiewicz. Andres Felipo kicked well hit freekick during the 69th minute of the match. A nice corner shot did that Gianpaolo Mascari got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Olavo Henriques quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. When the match clock showed 73 minutes, the score became 0-1 when Gianpaolo Mascari sped through Racing Club's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Olavo Henriques. Racing Club's Olavo Henriques played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Sigfrido Auletta in the 75th minute of play. A collision led to Racing Club getting a freekick after 77 minutes play. Eustacio Gonsalvo hit a great ball. Fernandinho Rivera received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 93rd minute. Flavio Vittori tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere.
