France's Maxime Durand played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Metin Tekin in the 20th minute of play. In the 22nd minute Metin Tekin shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Maxime Durand saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Maxime Durand stood somewhat misplaced when Metin Tekin came free in front of goal and shot 1-0 to the left of him in the 22 minute. The Dokuz Oğuz fans' excitement grew in the 87th match minute when Dokuz Oğuz's Şerafettin Demirkan looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 3-1 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Dokuz Oğuz's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
