Robert Collen's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Arnout Reekers read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 11th minute of play. A collision led to KOO Tigers getting a freekick after 13 minutes play. Gündüz Engiay hit a great ball. Uğuralp Vasfi made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from David Eikelkamp in the 14th minute of play. In the 16th minute of the match Netherlands got a corner. KOO Tigers's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Gijsbert ter Kruimer ran over to the corner to take the kick. The corner first didn't look so dangerous but when Gijsbert ter Kruimer got the ball he succeeded in some way to get through the defenders to deliver a very hard score. Result 0-1. 16 minutes into the match. Uğuralp Vasfi made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gijsbert ter Kruimer in the 20th minute of play. Uğuralp Vasfi showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Gustaaf Groeneveldt, who was totally free with the ball in the 22nd minute. 23 minutes into the match, KOO Tigers's goal looked a bit too open when Wim Wilmes came free, but Uğuralp Vasfi reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Uğuralp Vasfi showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Wim Wilmes, who was totally free with the ball in the 25th minute. Arnout Reekers took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Robert Collen, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Xiao Yu Chao stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Wim Wilmes sent away a hard shot on goal in the 53rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 56 minutes into the match, Netherlands's goal looked a bit too open when Robert Collen came free, but Arnout Reekers reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Arnout Reekers showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Xiao Yu Chao in the 57th minute of the match. After 58 minutes, Alfonso Cordario mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the KOO Tigers and the Netherlands players grew even worse after the yellow card.
