Arsenal FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Germany the free kick. If Albin Holweck had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 4th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 8thth minute of the game Stefan Hodyl who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Germany's Tommy Kahn was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Tommy Kahn took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Matthias Löfgren, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. A collision led to Germany getting a freekick after 11 minutes play. Chris Mergenthaler hit a great ball. Germany's Tommy Kahn proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 12th minute of the match, managed to save Germany from getting a goal against them. After a rather tough play, Germany's Albin Holweck got a free kick in the 13th minute. When Arsenal FC's Stefan Hodyl in the 15th minute got a chance for a shot 15th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Germany's goalie prevented a goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Frank Sachs in the 16th minute of play forced Arsenal FC's goalkeeper Songur Yoran to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Frank Sachs in the 21st minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Songur Yoran prevented the ball from getting in the gole. 22 minutes into the match, Germany's goal looked a bit too open when Stefan Hodyl came free, but Tommy Kahn reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The supporters of Arsenal FC booed when Germany was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 23 match minutes in a wonderful position. Frank Sachs didn't get a good kick on the ball. A hard shot 26 in the game by Stefan Hodyl from a close distance when the talented Tommy Kahn managed to make a qualified save. Germany's players were relieved. Arsenal FC's Hubert Alén managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by Chris Mergenthaler in the 27 minute of the game. 29 minutes into the match, Arsenal FC's goal looked a bit too open when Frank Sachs came free, but Songur Yoran reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 31 minutes into the match, Germany's goalkeeper Tommy Kahn had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Stefan Hodyl. Tommy Kahn made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Stefan Hodyl in the 33rd minute of play. After 33 played minutes Germany got a freekick which was hit by Adrian Dreifuss. The crowd rose to their feet as Arsenal FC's Stefan Hodyl slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Tommy Kahn. That made the score 1-0 after 35 minutes of play. Tommy Kahn had great luck who in the 39thth minute grab hold of the ball when Stefan Hodyl from a short distance tried to put the ball inside the right post. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Stefan Hodyl was the one to do the kick off. In the 56th match minute, Arsenal FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Edvard Pihl to maneuver through the defense. In the 60th minute, Germany's Frank Sachs dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 1-1. When Arsenal FC's Matthias Löfgren in the 68th minute got a chance for a shot 68th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Germany's goalie prevented a goal. Tommy Kahn took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from John Forsberg, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If John Forsberg had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 72nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. After 72 minutes, Stefan Hodyl made it 2-1 with a short kick to the right side. Germany's Tommy Kahn tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. Tommy Kahn showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Stefan Hodyl, who was totally free with the ball in the 75th minute. Matthias Löfgren received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 78th minute. Tommy Kahn tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 80 minutes into the game, Arsenal FC's Matthias Löfgren nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Tommy Kahn made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 3-1. 88 minutes into the match, Matthias Löfgren had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Tommy Kahn. Germany's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Matthias Löfgren was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 4-1. The audience was convinced that Stefan Hodyl's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Tommy Kahn was relentless in the 95th minute of the game. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. Arsenal FC had played much better football throughout.
