The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. 4 minutes into the match, Lars Meesters notched a goal, 0-1, to the right of SE Palmeiras's Will Muralhas. Will Muralhas was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-4.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Gijsbert ter Kruimer made a kick off. Netherlands's Arnout Reekers played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Giuseppe Esteves in the 51st minute of play. In the 54th minute, Michel Marques hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 55 minutes in the game, Gustaaf Groeneveldt fired away an excellent shot, which passed to the side of the right post without Will Muralhas having to interfere. After 56 minutes, Elivélton Valle mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the SE Palmeiras and the Netherlands players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 57thth minute of the game Wim Wilmes who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but SE Palmeiras's Will Muralhas was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Arnout Reekers showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Giuseppe Esteves, who was totally free with the ball in the 59th minute. 63 minutes had been played when some careless play by SE Palmeiras's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Gijsbert ter Kruimer was slow to take the kick. During this time Netherlands's players had a chance to rest. 63 minutes into the game, Natanael Paraense was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. SE Palmeiras's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Netherlands the free kick. In the 63rd minute, one of SE Palmeiras:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for SE Palmeiras. SE Palmeiras:s Will Muralhas showed great skill when he stopped Gijsbert ter Kruimer:s penalty. After a rather tough play, SE Palmeiras's Elivélton Valle got a free kick in the 66th minute. 68 minutes into the match, SE Palmeiras's goalkeeper Will Muralhas had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Gustaaf Groeneveldt. Arnout Reekers made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Giuseppe Esteves in the 71st minute of play. Gustaaf Groeneveldt could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 74th minute of the match, but Will Muralhas made a huge save. Will Muralhas showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Gijsbert ter Kruimer, who was totally free with the ball in the 78th minute. Alfredinho Reis's late challenge caught a Netherlands's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Will Muralhas was out of position in the 88 minute of play, and Gustaaf Groeneveldt capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Gustaaf Groeneveldt really showed his touch with that goal: 0-5. With a little luck, SE Palmeiras's Will Muralhas got control of the ball when Wim Wilmes tried to sneak it across the goal line. When the final whistle sounded Netherlands left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than SE Palmeiras.
