Frank Sachs's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but 林城谦 read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 14th minute of play. Tommy Kahn stood somewhat misplaced when 白远延 came free in front of goal and shot 1-0 to the left of him in the 16 minute. In the 20th minute, Cylon's 白远延 dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 2-0. Cylon's 林城谦 played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Frank Sachs in the 38th minute of play. When 白远延 came up free with the goalie in the 39th minute, the Cylon fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that 白远延 couldn't finish the play. 邓远默's late challenge caught a Germany's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. 邓远默 helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of Germany booed when Cylon was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 40 match minutes in a wonderful position. 邓远默 didn't get a good kick on the ball. Germany's Linus Schwerner quite brazenly broke a throw-in by 邓远默, made in the 42nd minute of the game. Af the end of the first half the score was 2-1. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.
