Italy's Flavio Vittori proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 3rd minute of the match, managed to save Italy from getting a goal against them. An unexpectedly hard shot by Sigfrido Auletta in the 6th minute of play forced Los Delfines's goalkeeper Matías Patrone to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Italy's Siricio Liotta quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Hilario Asteri, made in the 9th minute of the game. Flavio Vittori took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Daniel Abeitia, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Sigfrido Auletta received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 13th minute. Matías Patrone tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Matías Patrone made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Zaccheo Andolina in the 19th minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in Los Delfines's zone, Sigfrido Auletta stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Matías Patrone came out of the goal and Sigfrido Auletta tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Zaccheo Andolina's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Matías Patrone read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 27th minute of play. 27 minutes into the match, Zaccheo Andolina notched a goal, 0-1, to the right of Los Delfines's Matías Patrone. Matías Patrone was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Flavio Vittori made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Daniel Abeitia in the 33rd minute of play. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-1 lead.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Zaccheo Andolina to strike the kick off in the second half. Daniel Abeitia's late challenge caught a Italy's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Daniel Abeitia helped the player get up and apologised. With an all-out effort, Italy's Matías Patrone threw himself towards the right post 53 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Siricio Liotta, which otherwise would have been placed in the net.
