Olavo Henriques came out of the goal in the 18th minute to try and stop a shot by Portugal's Felipe Barreto. But to his dismay, Felipe Barreto quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-1. Wilson Amorim stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Godofredo Remigio's shot from short distance in the 22nd minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Felipe Barreto in the 24th minute of play forced Racing Club's goalkeeper Olavo Henriques to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Wilson Amorim showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Godofredo Remigio in the 35th minute of the match. Godofredo Remigio recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 38th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 40th minute Viriato Moura shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Olavo Henriques saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Felipe Barreto had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 42nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Bruno Bastos got a throw-in 44 minutes in the game and the ball was received by Daniel Pimentel. Olavo Henriques took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Felipe Barreto, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Portugal's Daniel Pimentel quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Aureliano Kismi, made in the 47th minute of the game. When Daniel Pimentel fell near the penalty area in the 47th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Portugal's protests and gave Daniel Pimentel a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Portugal getting a freekick after 47 minutes play. Daniel Pimentel hit a great ball. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 1-1 after a close first half.

Maksymilian Walaszkiewicz hit a great freekick 51 minutes into the match. In the 52nd minute Viriato Moura shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Olavo Henriques saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Olavo Henriques took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Viriato Moura, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The supporters of Portugal booed when Racing Club was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 54 match minutes in a wonderful position. Joaquin Uxio didn't get a good kick on the ball. Olavo Henriques didn't succeed to prevent the ball from going into goal when Portugal's Viriato Moura shot an unexpected shot in the crossbar's under edge and made 1-2 in the ordered_time% minute. Racing Club's Fernandinho Rivera was substituted for Maksymilian Walaszkiewicz. Racing Club made a substitution. George Orwel replaced Godofredo Remigio. Olavo Henriques made a fantastic save in the 66th minute, when Viriato Moura sent off a good shot on target. A sloppy throw-in by Fabricio Andrade in the 71st minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by Racing Club's Eriberto Kimetz. Bartolomeu Dias could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 75th minute of the match, but Olavo Henriques made a huge save. Wilson Amorim didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from George Orwel went, in the 77th minute, to the upper right corner, 2-2 was the resulting score. Olavo Henriques took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Bartolomeu Dias, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. George Orwel sent away a hard shot on goal in the 85th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal.
