After 2 minutes of play, Denmark's Chris Nygaard made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Keld Paulsen came out of the goal and Karol Czubski tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 16th minute, Purple Shadows's Jakob Alberg ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Keld Paulsen. Keld Paulsen yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-2. The audience was convinced that Gorom Kanø's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Keld Paulsen was relentless in the 20th minute of the game. 25 minutes into the match, Denmark's goal looked a bit too open when Gorom Kanø came free, but Keld Paulsen reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 26th minute Jakob Alberg shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Keld Paulsen saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Denmark's Bjarne Kirkegaard quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Tymoteusz Jekot, made in the 31st minute of the game. An unexpectedly hard shot by Mikkel Wulff in the 35th minute of play forced Purple Shadows's goalkeeper Dobromir Keep to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 36 minutes Purple Shadows's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Chris Nygaard who took care of the corner kick. Kenn Skou kicked well hit freekick during the 39th minute of the match. 40 minutes into the game, Lars Steen was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Gorom Kanø recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 43rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 44th match minute, Denmark was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Olav Graversen to maneuver through the defense. In the 47th minute of the match Witomir Klawke sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Keld Paulsen skillfully saved the ball. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

The wind increased when Chris Nygaard made the kick off in the second half. Purple Shadows's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Witomir Klawke in the 55th minute. Jakob Alberg scored 4-2 in the 61st match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Keld Paulsen, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. A collision led to Denmark getting a freekick after 65 minutes play. Mikkel Wulff hit a great ball. Gorom Kanø struck a weak shot in the 70th minute. Keld Paulsen didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Purple Shadows. Keld Paulsen showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Gorom Kanø, who was totally free with the ball in the 75th minute. Keld Paulsen made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Tytus Fabiszak in the 84th minute of play. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 85th minute of the game. One of Denmark:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Purple Shadows:s goal. When Tytus Fabiszak came up free with the goalie in the 97th minute, the Purple Shadows fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Tytus Fabiszak couldn't finish the play. Denmark's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
