Nestor Vigil showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Eugenio Zarrella, who was totally free with the ball in the 16th minute. Godo Gøl took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Roque Velasco, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Nestor Vigil made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Eugenio Zarrella in the 24th minute of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 26th minute, Eugenio Zarrella managed to get in a good position for a shot. FC Lugano's supporters rose to their feet, but Eugenio Zarrella was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Nestor Vigil breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 32 minutes into the match, Victoriano Ekialde notched a goal, 1-1, to the right of FC Lugano's Godo Gøl. Godo Gøl was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cirilo Porfirio in the 35th minute of play forced FC Lugano's goalkeeper Godo Gøl to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Nestor Vigil showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Eugenio Zarrella in the 40th minute of the match. With a little luck, FC Lugano's Godo Gøl got control of the ball when Victoriano Ekialde tried to sneak it across the goal line.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Victoriano Ekialde to make the kick off. An unexpectedly hard shot by Roque Velasco in the 55th minute of play forced FC Lugano's goalkeeper Godo Gøl to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 57 minutes into the game, Victoriano Ekialde cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-1. Godo Gøl was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. After a rather tough play, Fecha Libre's Zeledon Orland got a free kick in the 70th minute. Godo Gøl showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Albano Betadur, who was totally free with the ball in the 74th minute. 75 minutes into the match, FC Lugano's goal looked a bit too open when Roque Velasco came free, but Godo Gøl reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 76 played minutes FC Lugano got a freekick which was hit by Piedro Marois. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Fecha Libre fans cheered their team off the field, for while FC Lugano had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
