The referee ignored Hahay's protests and gave Adam Glembin a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of PHOENIX Cluj-Napoca booed when Hahay was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 26 match minutes in a wonderful position. Adam Glembin didn't get a good kick on the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 30th minute, Edgar Kornatowski managed to get in a good position for a shot. Hahay's supporters rose to their feet, but Edgar Kornatowski was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Valer Onișoru breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The supporters of PHOENIX Cluj-Napoca booed when Hahay was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 31 match minutes in a wonderful position. Adam Glembin didn't get a good kick on the ball. Bernard Drugi hit a great freekick 32 minutes into the match. Valer Onișoru came out of the goal in the 35th minute to try and stop a shot by Hahay's Daniel Noworolnik. But to his dismay, Daniel Noworolnik quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. After 38 minutes, Bernard Drugi mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Hahay and the PHOENIX Cluj-Napoca players grew even worse after the yellow card. A collision led to Hahay getting a freekick after 40 minutes play. Bernard Drugi hit a great ball. Gigi Bobei could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 42nd minute of the match, but Zbyszek Pilipiec made a huge save. Valer Onișoru made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Daniel Noworolnik in the 47th minute of play. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Hahay made a substitution. Wit Jaszyna replaced Radomir Karwowski. Valer Onișoru took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Daniel Noworolnik, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 55 played minutes, PHOENIX Cluj-Napoca's Cristinel Uncheşelu shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Zbyszek Pilipiec came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in PHOENIX Cluj-Napoca reached it. Zbyszek Pilipiec showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Gigi Bobei, who was totally free with the ball in the 56th minute. Adam Glembin kicked well hit freekick during the 57th minute of the match. Hahay's Daniel Janiczek was substituted for Adam Glembin. In the 58th minute, Adam Glembin hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. An unexpectedly hard shot by Gigi Bobei in the 59th minute of play forced Hahay's goalkeeper Zbyszek Pilipiec to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Kacper Dziatkowski charged in rather forcefully in the 64th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Kacper Dziatkowski the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Kacper Dziatkowski kicked well hit freekick during the 64th minute of the match. In the 71st match minute, PHOENIX Cluj-Napoca was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Cristinel Uncheşelu to maneuver through the defense. Hahay's Radowit Madajczyk was substituted for Waldemar Karbowski. Cristinel Uncheşelu kicked well hit freekick during the 72nd minute of the match. Zbyszek Pilipiec was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Valer Onișoru didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Bernard Drugi went, in the 92nd minute, to the upper right corner, 1-2 was the resulting score.
