The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. CAMPINAS FUTEBOL CLUBE's Ramiro Bertassi played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Dan Gillette in the 7th minute of play. Faouzi Plouvier kicked well hit freekick during the 23rd minute of the match. 28 minutes into the game, Silas Siqueira recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Patrice Sénéchal. Silas Siqueira showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-0. Jordan Garbay's late challenge caught a CAMPINAS FUTEBOL CLUBE's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Jordan Garbay helped the player get up and apologised. The audience thought a goal was coming when Júlio Brasil got free with Patrice Sénéchal in the 38th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 43rd minute, Joaquim Gibert hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 48th match minute, CAMPINAS FUTEBOL CLUBE was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Adalberto Mattos to maneuver through the defense. 49 minutes into the game, Saint Côme de Fresné's Christophe Dugas nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Ramiro Bertassi made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-1. The score stood at 1-1 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Júlio Brasil made a kick off. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Júlio Brasil in the 59th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Patrice Sénéchal saved Saint Côme de Fresné from getting behind. In the 63rd minute, CAMPINAS FUTEBOL CLUBE's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Christophe Dugas fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. In the 65th minute, Christophe Dugas ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Ramiro Bertassi was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-2. With a little luck, CAMPINAS FUTEBOL CLUBE's Ramiro Bertassi got control of the ball when Christophe Dugas tried to sneak it across the goal line. If Silas Siqueira had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 71st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 77 played minutes CAMPINAS FUTEBOL CLUBE got a freekick which was hit by Dorian Nunes. The long shot by Luc Boulogne in the 79th minute really tested Ramiro Bertassi's skills. The ball was on its way into the goal to the left of him when he managed to stretch himself and save the shot and avoid a goal. Ramiro Bertassi made an important save on a dangerous shot by Christophe Dugas in the 83rd minute.

Saint Côme de Fresné's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
