In the 2nd minute, Norberto Abechuco hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Guido Vimaro stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Mário Aparecido's shot from short distance in the 6th minute. In the 8th match minute, Nova Venécia-ES was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Vicente Peres to maneuver through the defense. Clemente Cardozo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Luciano Remir in the 10th minute of play. In the 11th minute, Bonifacio Muno hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 12 minutes into the game, Diego Botelho cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-1. Guido Vimaro was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Mazaredo AFC's Guido Vimaro played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Diego Botelho in the 16th minute of play. Luciano Remir might have been able to make a better finish in the 17th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Clemente Cardozo. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Luciano Remir ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 18th match minute, Nova Venécia-ES was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Michel Leite to maneuver through the defense. Mazaredo AFC's Anier Naike managed to work through Nova Venécia-ES's defense and was going for an easy goal, but he hit the shot with his toe and the ball flew outside the goal. Anier Naike dejectedly held out his arms as if to ask why the ball hadn't gone in. Guido Vimaro showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from José Pedro Cardoso in the 24th minute of the match. In the 25th minute of the match Nova Venécia-ES got a corner. Mazaredo AFC's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Mário Aparecido ran over to the corner to take the kick. Norberto Abechuco thought of kicking away a contribution in front of goal but messed it up so badly that the ball went to the right of an astonished Guido Vimaro, a very annoying self made goal in the 25th minute which led to 0-2. When Vito Custódio came up free with the goalie in the 28th minute, the Nova Venécia-ES fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Vito Custódio couldn't finish the play. In the 31st minute, Adrian Munio hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Mazaredo AFC's Guido Vimaro played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Mário Aparecido in the 34th minute of play. With a little luck, Nova Venécia-ES's Clemente Cardozo got control of the ball when Luciano Remir tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 39th minute, Silvio Ramirez hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Guido Vimaro showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Diego Botelho, who was totally free with the ball in the 43rd minute. Michel Leite hit a great freekick 46 minutes into the match. After the first half Nova Venécia-ES were leading 0-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.
After some fancy dribbling in the 52nd minute, Anier Naike managed to get in a good position for a shot. Mazaredo AFC's supporters rose to their feet, but Anier Naike was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Clemente Cardozo breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. An unexpectedly hard shot by Mário Aparecido in the 53rd minute of play forced Mazaredo AFC's goalkeeper Guido Vimaro to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a defensive mix-up in Mazaredo AFC's zone, Mário Aparecido stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Guido Vimaro came out of the goal and Mário Aparecido tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Silvio Ramirez kicked well hit freekick during the 64th minute of the match. Gavino Veremundo hit a great freekick 68 minutes into the match. After a defensive mix-up in Mazaredo AFC's zone, Mário Aparecido stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Guido Vimaro came out of the goal and Mário Aparecido tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Guido Vimaro made a fantastic save in the 76th minute, when Diego Botelho sent off a good shot on target. In the 80th minute José Pedro Cardoso shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Guido Vimaro saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Bonifacio Muno hit a great freekick 85 minutes into the match. If José Pedro Cardoso had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 86th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Nova Venécia-ES were furious when Elói Baptista was red carded, 93 minutes into the game, but the referee dismissed their protests. In the 94th match minute, Nova Venécia-ES was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Elói Baptista to maneuver through the defense.
The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Nova Venécia-ES eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
