Wim Wilmes fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 15th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jago Urquijo having to interfere. 17 minutes into the match, Netherlands's goalkeeper Arnout Reekers had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Kajar Indrekson. Jago Urquijo showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Gustaaf Groeneveldt in the 19th minute of the match. After 20 minutes C.A. Husky's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Gijsbert ter Kruimer who took care of the corner kick. A nice corner shot did that Gijsbert ter Kruimer got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Jago Urquijo quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. In the 22nd minute Lars Meesters shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jago Urquijo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 23 minutes into the game, David Eikelkamp was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Netherlands's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave C.A. Husky the free kick. The supporters of C.A. Kajar Indrekson struck a weak shot in the 27th minute. Arnout Reekers didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for C.A. The audience thought a goal was coming when Kajar Indrekson got free with Arnout Reekers in the 39th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Kajar Indrekson made a kick off. Jago Urquijo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Wim Wilmes in the 52nd minute of play. Gijsbert ter Kruimer scored 1-1 in the 54th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Jago Urquijo, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. After having played for 58 minutes, Wim Wilmes managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Netherlands's supporters crossed their fingers, but Wim Wilmes was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Husky's Jago Urquijo got control of the ball when Gijsbert ter Kruimer tried to sneak it across the goal line. A well-hit corner resulted in Gustaaf Groeneveldt heading the ball towards the goal, but to his dismay he misdirected it and missed the goal completely. Wim Wilmes fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 94th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jago Urquijo having to interfere.
