The audience thought a goal was coming when Zico Orange got free with Fodor Daniel in the 30th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Edinho Pirani took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Major Barna, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Major Barna scored 0-1 in the 37th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Edinho Pirani, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. An unexpectedly hard shot by Major Barna in the 41st minute of play forced Laranja Mecânica FSCMZ's goalkeeper Edinho Pirani to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 45 played minutes Laranja Mecânica FSCMZ got a freekick which was hit by Zico Orange.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Zico Orange to make the kick off.
