Frank Sachs blasted a shot towards the goal in the 15th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Mihály Földesi having to make a save. 17 minutes into the match, Germany's Albin Holweck sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Mihály Földesi narrowly saved just below the crossbar. After some fancy dribbling in the 19th minute, Frank Sachs managed to get in a good position for a shot.
