Spectators: 42 (Terracing: 32, Seating: 10, VIP seats: 0) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Cristian Naike kicked off to start the match. The supporters of Vélez Juniors booed when Portugal was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 2 match minutes in a wonderful position. Daniel Pimentel didn't get a good kick on the ball. Cristian Naike recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 6th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 8th minute, Nicolas Roland left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Vélez Juniors fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-0. Elpidio Vitin showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Felipe Barreto in the 14th minute of the match. In the 22nd minute Nicolas Roland shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Wilson Amorim saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 26 minutes Vélez Juniors's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Felipe Barreto who took care of the corner kick. The corner ended in Felipe Barreto almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Vélez Juniors's Elpidio Vitin did a great save. Vélez Juniors's Elpidio Vitin played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Viriato Moura in the 34th minute of play. 37 minutes into the match, Vélez Juniors's goal looked a bit too open when Viriato Moura came free, but Elpidio Vitin reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. A sloppy throw-in by Santos Fonda in the 40th minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by Portugal's Daniel Pimentel. Portugal's defense didn't have a chance, in the 45th minute, when Nicolas Roland scored to the left of an out of position Wilson Amorim, making the score, 2-0. Cristian Naike sent away a hard shot on goal in the 48th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-0 at half-time.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Viriato Moura to strike the kick off in the second half. Elpidio Vitin made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Viriato Moura in the 52nd minute of play. With an all-out effort, Portugal's Elpidio Vitin threw himself towards the right post 54 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Viriato Moura, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. After a rather tough play, Portugal's Raul Caetano got a free kick in the 64th minute. Vélez Juniors made a substitution. Benicio Rivas replaced Benigno Gurutz. The supporters of Vélez Juniors booed when Portugal was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 66 match minutes in a wonderful position. Raul Caetano didn't get a good kick on the ball. After a rather tough play, Vélez Juniors's Donato Efraim got a free kick in the 68th minute. After 70 played minutes Vélez Juniors got a freekick which was hit by Donato Efraim. Vélez Juniors's Elpidio Vitin proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 71st minute of the match, managed to save Vélez Juniors from getting a goal against them. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Guido Luzaide during the 71st minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Guido Luzaide hit a great freekick 71 minutes into the match. After having played for 75 minutes, Felipinho Amorim managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Portugal's supporters crossed their fingers, but Felipinho Amorim was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Elpidio Vitin made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Caetano Moreira in the 77th minute of play. 78 minutes into the game, Caetano Moreira cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-1. Elpidio Vitin was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. When Cristian Naike fell near the penalty area in the 81st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Vélez Juniors's protests and gave Cristian Naike a yellow card for diving instead. In the 81st minute, Cristian Naike hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Portugal's Bruno Bastos managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by Godofredo Ado in the 85 minute of the game. Elpidio Vitin took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Felipinho Amorim, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 93rdth minute of the game Bartolomeu Dias who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Vélez Juniors's Elpidio Vitin was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Elpidio Vitin made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Bartolomeu Dias in the 95th minute of play. Neither set of supporters seemed pleased with the draw, but both teams had played equally well today.
