Don Malbec's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Netherlands the free kick. Armando Paredes hit a great freekick 15 minutes into the match. When Gijsbert ter Kruimer came up free with the goalie in the 38th minute, the Netherlands fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Gijsbert ter Kruimer couldn't finish the play. Gijsbert ter Kruimer struck a weak shot in the 41st minute. Aurelio Astudillo didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Netherlands. Aurelio Astudillo was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. An unexpected shot in the 72nd minute by Gijsbert ter Kruimer got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. In the 76th minute Wim Wilmes shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Aurelio Astudillo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 81 minutes into the match, Wim Wilmes dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Aurelio Astudillo, 1-4. 85 minutes had been played when some careless play by Don Malbec's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Gijsbert ter Kruimer was slow to take the kick. During this time Netherlands's players had a chance to rest. After taking down the ball on Netherlands's corner Gijsbert ter Kruimer fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Aurelio Astudillo quite easily take care of the ball. Gustaaf Groeneveldt took the ball and in the 94 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Aurelio Astudillo. Aurelio Astudillo dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-6. Netherlands played a much better game than Don Malbec and deserved their victory. The Don Malbec players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
