Spectators: 45 (Terracing: 35, Seating: 10, VIP seats: 0) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Damon Sennrich kicked off to start the match. The audience thought a goal was coming when Günther Huri got free with Keld Paulsen in the 10th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Denmark's attentive Olav Graversen managed to snatch the ball when Harlow Weingartner made a throw-in in the 14th minute of the game. When Denmark's Chris Nygaard in the 15th minute got a chance for a shot 15th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. The supporters of FC Thierachern booed when Denmark was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 18 match minutes in a wonderful position. Lars Steen didn't get a good kick on the ball. When Chris Nygaard came up free with the goalie in the 26th minute, the Denmark fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Chris Nygaard couldn't finish the play. Bertram Svenningsen struck a weak shot in the 29th minute. Florian Brechbühl didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Denmark. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Simon Bendtsen during the 32nd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Florian Brechbühl took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Chris Nygaard, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Florian Brechbühl showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Mikkel Wulff, who was totally free with the ball in the 40th minute. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

Damon Sennrich hit a great freekick 52 minutes into the match. Florian Brechbühl made an important save on a dangerous shot by Bertram Svenningsen in the 57th minute. In the 59th minute, Denmark's Bjarne Kirkegaard seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Bjarne Kirkegaard the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of Denmark protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Bjarne Kirkegaard had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. In the 59th minute, one of Denmark:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Denmark. Bertram Svenningsen might have been able to make a better finish in the 69th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Florian Brechbühl. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Bertram Svenningsen ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 71st minute, Mikkel Wulff got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Jesaja Wüst hit a great freekick 73 minutes into the match. Günther Huri hit a great freekick 77 minutes into the match. Florian Brechbühl showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Bertram Svenningsen, who was totally free with the ball in the 78th minute. Denmark's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Chris Nygaard in the 79th minute. In the 81st minute the ball was on its way in behind FC Thierachern's goalkeeper Florian Brechbühl, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. After some careless play in the FC Thierachern defense, Bertram Svenningsen kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Florian Brechbühl. The FC Thierachern fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Florian Brechbühl should have stopped the shot. Jim Leupi kicked well hit freekick during the 89th minute of the match. Harlow Weingartner made in the 91st minute of the game a sloppy throw-in which Jesaja Wüst however managed to control. In the 95th minute, Denmark's Mikkel Wulff dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 1-3. Denmark played a much better game than FC Thierachern and deserved their victory. The FC Thierachern players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
