Netherlands's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. Gustaaf Groeneveldt fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 19th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Artur Boruc having to interfere. With a little luck, Netherlands's Arnout Reekers got control of the ball when Tormaigh Cassin tried to sneak it across the goal line. Gijsbert ter Kruimer struck a weak shot in the 22nd minute. Artur Boruc didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Netherlands. Arnout Reekers showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Julen Castellano, who was totally free with the ball in the 27th minute. In the 30th minute of the game Julen Castellano made a throw-in which Julen Castellano played forward. Arnout Reekers took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Tormaigh Cassin, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The Rayo Bengala fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-0. Gijsbert ter Kruimer recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 39th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Gustaaf Groeneveldt in the 41st minute of play forced Rayo Bengala's goalkeeper Artur Boruc to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Arnout Reekers made an important save on a dangerous shot by Policarpio Lama in the 45th minute. In the 48thth minute of the game Julen Castellano who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Netherlands's Arnout Reekers was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

Gijsbert ter Kruimer sent away a hard shot on goal in the 63rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Gijsbert ter Kruimer had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 86th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 89th minute, Netherlands's Gustaaf Groeneveldt ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Artur Boruc. Artur Boruc yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-2. 94 minutes into the match, Netherlands's goal looked a bit too open when Julen Castellano came free, but Arnout Reekers reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Julen Castellano recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 95th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. Netherlands had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
