Flavio Vittori showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Vahur Haas, who was totally free with the ball in the 19th minute. The score stood at 0-0 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

The supporters of Italy booed when FC Lëtzebuerg was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 92 match minutes in a wonderful position. Wang Yi Nan didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 94th minute of the match, Guiscardo Davide tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Jorge Bittencourt saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. Guiscardo Davide kicked a quick shot right in front of the goal in the 94thth minute. Though ot was a great shot FC Lëtzebuerg's keeper Jorge Bittencourt was sill able to block leaving the score board unchanged. Guiscardo Davide did some fancy footwork in front of goal and succeeded to deceive the defenders so he could slam the ball in 1-3 to the left of a surprised Jorge Bittencourt 94 minutes into the match.
