After 14 minutes of play, FC Lëtzebuerg's Vahur Haas made it 1-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Flavio Vittori was left in no man's land by his defense there! Siricio Liotta sent away a hard shot on goal in the 17th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Vahur Haas's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Flavio Vittori read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 20th minute of play. 22 minutes had been played when some careless play by Italy's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Adrian Duldurescu was slow to take the kick. During this time FC Lëtzebuerg's players had a chance to rest. Porziano Marchitelli blasted a shot towards the goal in the 23rd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Jorge Bittencourt having to make a save. FC Lëtzebuerg's Jorge Bittencourt played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Porziano Marchitelli in the 27th minute of play. In the 29th minute the ball was on its way in behind FC Lëtzebuerg's goalkeeper Jorge Bittencourt, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. 31 minutes into the match, Italy's goal looked a bit too open when Vahur Haas came free, but Flavio Vittori reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The supporters of FC Lëtzebuerg booed when Italy was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 36 match minutes in a wonderful position. Eliseo Cutri didn't get a good kick on the ball. When the match had gone on for 42 minutes, Zaccheo Andolina put it in 1-1 from a short distance just to the right of Jorge Bittencourt. In the 48th match minute, FC Lëtzebuerg was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Yannick Bartz to maneuver through the defense. The score stood at 1-1 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Vahur Haas to strike the kick off in the second half. In the 54th minute, Vahur Haas got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Jorge Bittencourt showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Siricio Liotta, who was totally free with the ball in the 57th minute. FC Lëtzebuerg made a substitution. Miguel Sanches replaced Vahur Haas. FC Lëtzebuerg's Fabian Hoffmann quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Eliseo Cutri, made in the 74th minute of the game. An unexpectedly hard shot by Sigfrido Auletta in the 77th minute of play forced FC Lëtzebuerg's goalkeeper Jorge Bittencourt to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Jorge Bittencourt made a fantastic save in the 84th minute, when Zaccheo Andolina sent off a good shot on target. Italy's Sansone Vanella was substituted for Gianpaolo Mascari. Flavio Vittori made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Miguel Sanches in the 95th minute of play. 97 minutes into the match, FC Lëtzebuerg's goal looked a bit too open when Adriano Curto came free, but Jorge Bittencourt reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When the final whistle sounded Italy left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than FC Lëtzebuerg.
