Marko Tillman kicked well hit freekick during the 3rd minute of the match. The audience was convinced that Kent Smefeldt's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Hjalmar Viberg was relentless in the 8th minute of the game. Kristoffer Vester struck a weak shot in the 9th minute. Hjalmar Viberg didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for AIF. 22 minutes into the match, Al-Torn's goal looked a bit too open when Kent Smefeldt came free, but Hjalmar Viberg reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In a very dangerous position, a player in AIF fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 25th minute. Penalty! Ragnar Wallander had in the 27thth minute some difficulties stopping Ove Siöberg's well aimed penalty as it nearly passed him on his left side, but he still managed to hold the ball. Hjalmar Viberg showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Kristoffer Vester in the 30th minute of the match. After 32 played minutes Al-Torn got a freekick which was hit by Eric Wallmark. Hjalmar Viberg showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Henning Strandberg in the 33rd minute of the match. If Kent Smefeldt had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 35th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Kent Smefeldt recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 40th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Hjalmar Viberg stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Kristoffer Vester's shot from short distance in the 44th minute. After having played for 48 minutes, Kent Smefeldt managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. AIF's supporters crossed their fingers, but Kent Smefeldt was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Kent Smefeldt was the one to do the kick off. 53 minutes into the match, AIF's goal looked a bit too open when Petter Påk came free, but Ragnar Wallander reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 55th minute Petter Påk shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ragnar Wallander saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Kent Smefeldt might have been able to make a better finish in the 56th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Hjalmar Viberg. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Kent Smefeldt ran back to his position shaking his head. Hjalmar Viberg showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Kent Smefeldt, who was totally free with the ball in the 60th minute. Karl-Michael Hjelm kicked well hit freekick during the 73rd minute of the match. If Kristoffer Vester had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 77th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The crowd rose to their feet as Kent Smefeldt kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Hjalmar Viberg. That made the score 0-2 in the 79 minute of play. Kristoffer Vester struck a weak shot in the 82nd minute. Hjalmar Viberg didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for AIF. After a rather tough play, Al-Torn's Rune Magnusson got a free kick in the 87th minute. If Kristoffer Vester had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 89th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 92 minutes, Klas Njurenius mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the AIF and the Al-Torn players grew even worse after the yellow card. After a rather tough play, AIF's Klas Njurenius got a free kick in the 92nd minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Kent Smefeldt in the 95th minute of play forced Al-Torn's goalkeeper Hjalmar Viberg to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched AIF eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
