Innar Uhtlik took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 9th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Víktor Lira. Botafogo's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Kunnar Eesti hit a great freekick 11 minutes into the match. Kunnar Eesti was slow to take the kick. During this time Doctor's players had a chance to rest. In the 26th minute, Kunnar Eesti got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 28 minutes into the match, Botafogo's goal looked a bit too open when Kunnar Eesti came free, but Víktor Lira reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Erki Hanni had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 29th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 30th minute, Erki Hanni hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Fred Keerme made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from 肖远平 in the 32nd minute of play. When the match had gone on for 33 minutes, 肖远平 put it in 1-1 from a short distance just to the right of Fred Keerme. In the 42nd minute, Doctor's Kunnar Eesti ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Víktor Lira. Víktor Lira yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 2-1. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. 肖远平 was the one to do the kick off. Víktor Lira took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Kunnar Eesti, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 69 minutes, Kunnar Eesti made it 3-1 with a short kick to the right side. Botafogo's Víktor Lira tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 74th minute Fausto Alcântara shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Fred Keerme saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 76th minute, Antônio de Almeida had to be helped off the field due to a pulled leg muscle. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Erki Hanni during the 76th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card.
