AIF's Jerry Kullgren managed to work through Botafogo's defense and was going for an easy goal, but he hit the shot with his toe and the ball flew outside the goal. Jerry Kullgren dejectedly held out his arms as if to ask why the ball hadn't gone in. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Alfred Sandström during the 15th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. A collision led to AIF getting a freekick after 16 minutes play. Alfred Sandström hit a great ball. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Jerry Kullgren in the 22nd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Víktor Lira saved Botafogo from getting behind. Alfred Sandström received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 25th minute. Víktor Lira tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 28 minutes of play, AIF's Alfred Sandström made it 0-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Víktor Lira was left in no man's land by his defense there! Víktor Lira made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Alfred Sandström in the 37th minute of play. Víktor Lira showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Alfred Sandström in the 39th minute of the match. After a rather tough play, AIF's Dan Salqvist got a free kick in the 44th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Gerson do Vale in the 45th minute of play forced AIF's goalkeeper Marek Szostak to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-2.

After a rather tough play, AIF's Kenneth Frisk got a free kick in the 53rd minute. In the 59th minute the ball was on its way in behind Botafogo's goalkeeper Víktor Lira, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Alfred Sandström recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 62nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 64 minutes into the match, Botafogo's goalkeeper Víktor Lira had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Alfred Sandström. After having played for 66 minutes, Alfred Sandström managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. AIF's supporters crossed their fingers, but Alfred Sandström was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After some fancy dribbling in the 72nd minute, Jerry Kullgren managed to get in a good position for a shot. AIF's supporters rose to their feet, but Jerry Kullgren was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Víktor Lira breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Marek Szostak stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of 肖远平's shot from short distance in the 78th minute. 83 minutes into the game, Alfred Sandström cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-4. Víktor Lira was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. 86 minutes into the match, Botafogo's goalkeeper Víktor Lira had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Alfred Sandström. 89 minutes into the game, Alfred Sandström recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Víktor Lira. Alfred Sandström showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 0-5. 93 minutes into the match, Botafogo's goal looked a bit too open when Jerry Kullgren came free, but Víktor Lira reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When Alfred Sandström came up free with the goalie in the 94th minute, the AIF fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Alfred Sandström couldn't finish the play. If Alfred Sandström had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 96th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When the final whistle sounded AIF left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than Botafogo.
