In the 7th minute, Alfredo Martins left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Marquês de Herval fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-1. Alfredo Martins blasted a shot towards the goal in the 10th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Egun Pais having to make a save. Dida Taffarel took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Andy Cole, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Floresta Negra FC's Egun Pais played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Nestor Paraibano in the 13th minute of play. After 15 minutes of play, Marquês de Herval's Nestor Paraibano made it 1-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Egun Pais was left in no man's land by his defense there! In the 18th minute of the game Valentin Vizitiu made a throw-in which German Cano played forward. The crowd rose to their feet as Floresta Negra FC's Andy Cole slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Dida Taffarel. That made the score 2-2 after 24 minutes of play. If Jerzy Zjawin had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 28th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 30thth minute of the game Andy Cole who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Marquês de Herval's Dida Taffarel was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Floresta Negra FC's Egun Pais played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Alfredo Martins in the 31st minute of play. 37 minutes in the game Valentin Vizitiu did a throw-in, and the ball was quickly in game thanks to Nestor Paraibano. In the 43rd match minute, Marquês de Herval was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by German Cano to maneuver through the defense. Dida Taffarel showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Andy Cole, who was totally free with the ball in the 45th minute. Egun Pais showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Alfredo Martins in the 47th minute of the match. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

The wind increased when Alfredo Martins made the kick off in the second half. Floresta Negra FC's Egun Pais played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by German Cano in the 51st minute of play. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Andy Cole in the 54th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Dida Taffarel prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Egun Pais made a fantastic save in the 64th minute, when Nestor Paraibano sent off a good shot on target. Pedro Luís da Rocha hit a great freekick 66 minutes into the match. Floresta Negra FC's Jardel Lewandowski was substituted for Andy Cole. A collision led to Marquês de Herval getting a freekick after 67 minutes play. Pedro Luís da Rocha hit a great ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by German Cano in the 77th minute of play forced Floresta Negra FC's goalkeeper Egun Pais to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 77 minutes in the game, the ball went up into the seats when Marquês de Herval's German Cano fired away a shot that was just a little bit too high. He walked away shaking his head. Floresta Negra FC's Alexsandro Mandrak was substituted for Hector Bazkoare. Dida Taffarel made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jerzy Zjawin in the 81st minute of play. After 86 minutes of play, Marquês de Herval's Alfredo Martins made it 2-3 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Egun Pais was left in no man's land by his defense there! The Marquês de Herval players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
