Pablo Patrone came out of the goal and Andy Cole tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Tarcisio Galvão made in the 26th minute of the game a quick throw-in and Roneixon Siqueira immediately put the ball in play. In the 29th minute Roneixon Siqueira shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Egun Pais saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Egun Pais stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Roneixon Siqueira's shot from short distance in the 29th minute. 31 minutes into the match, Floresta Negra FC's Andy Cole sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Pablo Patrone narrowly saved just below the crossbar. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Andy Cole stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. A sloppy throw-in by Leandro Gil in the 54th minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by Floresta Negra FC's Edson de Lima. Floresta Negra FC's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
