An unexpectedly hard shot by Major Barna in the 18th minute of play forced AEK FC's goalkeeper Kenneth Knudsen to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 21st minute, Erland Slyngstad made a precise shot to the right of Fodor Daniel. Hungary's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-1. If Major Barna had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 24th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 26 minutes into the match, AEK FC's goal looked a bit too open when Major Barna came free, but Kenneth Knudsen reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Major Barna in the 28th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Kenneth Knudsen prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After taking down the ball on Hungary's corner Antal Valentin fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Kenneth Knudsen quite easily take care of the ball. 32 minutes into the match, Hungary's Major Barna sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Kenneth Knudsen narrowly saved just below the crossbar. A well-hit corner resulted in Takacs Tibor heading the ball towards the goal, but to his dismay he misdirected it and missed the goal completely. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-1.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Antal Valentin to make the kick off. After a defensive mix-up in Hungary's zone, Erland Slyngstad stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Fodor Daniel came out of the goal and Erland Slyngstad tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Antal Valentin fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 56th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Kenneth Knudsen having to interfere. Antal Valentin recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 60th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Takacs Tibor was in a good position and managed to take a shot, but he missed just to the outside of the post. An unexpectedly hard shot by Major Barna in the 71st minute of play forced AEK FC's goalkeeper Kenneth Knudsen to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Hegedus Henrik received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 73rd minute. Kenneth Knudsen tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The audience was convinced that Artaç Hendekli's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Fodor Daniel was relentless in the 75th minute of the game. Fodor Daniel stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Artaç Hendekli's shot from short distance in the 79th minute. The AEK FC fans' excitement grew in the 79th match minute when AEK FC's Artaç Hendekli looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 3-1 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. 84 minutes into the match, Artaç Hendekli notched a goal, 4-1, to the right of Hungary's Fodor Daniel. Fodor Daniel was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Fodor Daniel showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Sindre Westerlund, who was totally free with the ball in the 97th minute. Hungary's supporters were dissatisfied at the end of the match because AEK FC had won, even though Hungary had held more of the ball.
