Gijsbert ter Kruimer blasted a shot towards the goal in the 12th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Marcos Basso having to make a save. The corner led to Netherlands's Lars Meesters getting away a dangerous shot that went just outside the goal. Marcos Basso took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from David Eikelkamp, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Marcos Basso showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Gustaaf Groeneveldt in the 26th minute of the match. Arnout Reekers took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gencer Hisarcık, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After taking down the ball on The Shadows's corner Ni Zhen Ying fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Arnout Reekers quite easily take care of the ball. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 0-0 after a close first half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Gencer Hisarcık made a kick off. Marcos Basso made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Lars Meesters in the 52nd minute of play. Thanks to some nice moves Gustaaf Groeneveldt could shoot a difficult shot in the 53rd minute, which Marcos Basso however easily saved by the left post. 56 minutes into the match, Netherlands's goal looked a bit too open when Niklas Lundqvist came free, but Arnout Reekers reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 58th match minute, Netherlands was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by David Eikelkamp to maneuver through the defense. The supporters of The Shadows booed when Netherlands was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 60 match minutes in a wonderful position. Gijsbert ter Kruimer didn't get a good kick on the ball. 63 minutes into the match, The Shadows's goalkeeper Marcos Basso had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Gustaaf Groeneveldt. Marcos Basso made a fantastic save in the 70th minute, when Wim Wilmes sent off a good shot on target. In the 76th minute of the match, Gustaaf Groeneveldt got a very nice opportunity to score, but Marcos Basso was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. Gijsbert ter Kruimer fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 77th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Marcos Basso having to interfere. The Shadows made a substitution. Henrik Nykvist replaced Li Fei Xu. Arnout Reekers showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Herman Lindell, who was totally free with the ball in the 81st minute. Netherlands's Arnout Reekers played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Herbert Holmgren in the 82nd minute of play. 86 minutes had been played when some careless play by Netherlands's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Ni Zhen Ying was slow to take the kick. During this time The Shadows's players had a chance to rest. Netherlands's Arnout Reekers played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Herman Lindell in the 88th minute of play. Marcos Basso made an important save on a dangerous shot by Wim Wilmes in the 90th minute. After 92 minutes The Shadows's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Gijsbert ter Kruimer who took care of the corner kick. Gijsbert ter Kruimer made a great header on Netherlands's corner, it was just that The Shadows's Marcos Basso managed to reach the ball for a save. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Karl-Åke Andreasson during the 96th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card.
