With his leg Arnout Reekers managed to avoid a goal in the 3rdth minute, when Villaverde Celeste Clube's William Lucas fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Netherlands's Lars Meesters got a good chance for a goal in the 12th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Tang Qian Xiong hit a great freekick 21 minutes into the match. In the 22nd minute of the match Gijsbert ter Kruimer shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Nenko Reza showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Nenko Reza showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Gijsbert ter Kruimer, who was totally free with the ball in the 27th minute. 31 minutes into the match, Villaverde Celeste Clube's goal looked a bit too open when Gustaaf Groeneveldt came free, but Nenko Reza reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Nenko Reza took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Lars Meesters, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. With a little luck, Netherlands's Arnout Reekers got control of the ball when William Lucas tried to sneak it across the goal line. Arnout Reekers made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Roy Makaay in the 44th minute of play.

The wind increased when Gijsbert ter Kruimer made the kick off in the second half. The audience thought a goal was coming when Wim Wilmes got free with Nenko Reza in the 51st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After a rather tough play, Villaverde Celeste Clube's Zeledon Vachon got a free kick in the 54th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by William Lucas in the 55th minute of play forced Netherlands's goalkeeper Arnout Reekers to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 57 minutes had been played when some careless play by Netherlands's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Guo Ao was slow to take the kick. During this time Villaverde Celeste Clube's players had a chance to rest. Armandinho Xavier was in a good position and managed to take a shot, but he missed just to the outside of the post. The throw-in from Kees Mooiweer in the 61st minute of the game was unfortunally taken care of by Villaverde Celeste Clube's Dino Manfredi. 62 minutes in the game Kees Mooiweer did a throw-in, and the ball was quickly in game thanks to Gijsbert ter Kruimer. After 64 played minutes Netherlands got a freekick which was hit by Kees Mooiweer. Arnout Reekers showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Roy Makaay in the 82nd minute of the match. In the 83rd minute Roy Makaay shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Arnout Reekers saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Arnout Reekers showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Roy Makaay, who was totally free with the ball in the 85th minute. The home crowd let out a huge roar when the referee blew for the end of the game. Villaverde Celeste Clube were victorious despite being under pressure from Netherlands for much of the match.
