When Deportivo Pucho's Claudio-Paul Caniggia in the 37th minute got a chance for a shot 37th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. After taking down the ball on Deportivo Pucho's corner Dan Holm fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Arnout Reekers quite easily take care of the ball. Östen Stor scored 3-1 in the 39th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Arnout Reekers, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. 44 minutes into the game, Deportivo Pucho's Östen Stor nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Arnout Reekers made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 4-1. After 47 played minutes Netherlands got a freekick which was hit by Gustaaf Groeneveldt.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Claudio-Paul Caniggia to strike the kick off in the second half. With a little luck, Deportivo Pucho's Józef Mlynarczyk got control of the ball when Wim Wilmes tried to sneak it across the goal line. 53 minutes had been played when some careless play by Deportivo Pucho's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Gijsbert ter Kruimer was slow to take the kick. During this time Netherlands's players had a chance to rest. Paulo Milio hit a great freekick 57 minutes into the match. The supporters of Netherlands booed when Deportivo Pucho was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 58 match minutes in a wonderful position. Wilfredo Thomas didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 59th minute of the match Gijsbert ter Kruimer sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Józef Mlynarczyk skillfully saved the ball. In the 62nd minute Netherlands were awarded a corner. Gijsbert ter Kruimer went to the cornerflag to take it. The corner ended in Gustaaf Groeneveldt almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Deportivo Pucho's Józef Mlynarczyk did a great save. Józef Mlynarczyk made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gijsbert ter Kruimer in the 72nd minute of play. 78 minutes into the match, Netherlands's goal looked a bit too open when Claudio-Paul Caniggia came free, but Arnout Reekers reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After some careless play in the Deportivo Pucho defense, Wim Wilmes kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Józef Mlynarczyk. The Deportivo Pucho fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Józef Mlynarczyk should have stopped the shot. Wim Wilmes fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 92nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Józef Mlynarczyk having to interfere. Gijsbert ter Kruimer recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 93rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The crowd rose to their feet as Wim Wilmes kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Józef Mlynarczyk. That made the score 4-4 in the 95 minute of play. The Netherlands players were the happier at the end of the match as they had prevented Deportivo Pucho from taking control. The game ends in a draw.
