Spectators: 43 (Terracing: 33, Seating: 10, VIP seats: 0) SK Dreigoten's Mathieu Toussain started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Arnout Reekers showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Qwinten Strupar, who was totally free with the ball in the 9th minute. In the 14th minute Gijsbert ter Kruimer shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Marcos Díaz saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 16th minute, Qwinten Strupar hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. A collision led to SK Dreigoten getting a freekick after 18 minutes play. Robben Vanden Bossche hit a great ball. The supporters of Netherlands booed when SK Dreigoten was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 22 match minutes in a wonderful position. Robben Vanden Bossche didn't get a good kick on the ball. Arnout Reekers made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Michael Wirinckx in the 24th minute of play. The SK Dreigoten fans' excitement grew in the 26th match minute when SK Dreigoten's Mathieu Toussain looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 1-0 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. In the 29th minute, SK Dreigoten's Michael Wirinckx dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 2-0. Arnout Reekers made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Michael Wirinckx in the 37th minute of play. Marcos Díaz took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Wim Wilmes, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 44th minute Gust Ennemans suffered a thigh injury and had to be helped off the field. When Roderik Van den Berch fell near the penalty area in the 44th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored SK Dreigoten's protests and gave Roderik Van den Berch a yellow card for diving instead. Netherlands made a substitution. Kevin Drogt replaced Gust Ennemans. In the 46th match minute, SK Dreigoten was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Robben Vanden Bossche to maneuver through the defense. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-0.

The wind increased when Gijsbert ter Kruimer made the kick off in the second half. Arnout Reekers took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Qwinten Strupar, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 59 minutes into the match, SK Dreigoten's goalkeeper Marcos Díaz had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Gustaaf Groeneveldt. An unexpectedly hard shot by Wim Wilmes in the 63rd minute of play forced SK Dreigoten's goalkeeper Marcos Díaz to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Marcos Díaz was a little too slow when Wim Wilmes got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 66th minute. The score was now 2-1. In the 70th minute, Gijsbert ter Kruimer fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of Marcos Díaz, passed just outside the right post. In the 72nd minute, David Eikelkamp got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. With an all-out effort, Netherlands's Marcos Díaz threw himself towards the right post 75 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Lars Meesters, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. The audience thought a goal was coming when Wim Wilmes got free with Marcos Díaz in the 78th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 80 minutes into the game, Wim Wilmes recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Marcos Díaz. Wim Wilmes showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 2-2. Arnout Reekers made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Binjamin Ketelers in the 86th minute of play. The final whistle blew with the score still tied, and both teams left the pitch thinking about the missed chances that could have given their team the win.
