Hungary's Fodor Daniel played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Augusto Landero in the 15th minute of play. Nasos Papadis sent away a hard shot on goal in the 18th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After some fancy dribbling in the 25th minute, Nikos Kanetos managed to get in a good position for a shot. ΟΦΗ's supporters rose to their feet, but Nikos Kanetos was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Fodor Daniel breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Hungary's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Antal Valentin in the 27th minute. 苏铮思 hit a great freekick 29 minutes into the match. A collision led to ΟΦΗ getting a freekick after 30 minutes play. Fulvio Forlani hit a great ball. Antal Valentin fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 32nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ilias Seichanidis having to interfere. Ilias Seichanidis showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Antal Valentin in the 37th minute of the match. In the 41st minute, Major Barna hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

In the 51st minute Augusto Landero shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Fodor Daniel saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 苏铮思 hit a great freekick 52 minutes into the match. Fodor Daniel showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Augusto Landero in the 56th minute of the match. After having played for 57 minutes, Nasos Papadis managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. ΟΦΗ's supporters crossed their fingers, but Nasos Papadis was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Fodor Daniel made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Augusto Landero in the 58th minute of play. The supporters of ΟΦΗ booed when Hungary was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 66 match minutes in a wonderful position. Balazs Lajos didn't get a good kick on the ball. Fodor Daniel showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Augusto Landero, who was totally free with the ball in the 70th minute. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Augusto Landero in the 72nd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Fodor Daniel saved Hungary from getting behind. A collision led to ΟΦΗ getting a freekick after 76 minutes play. Augusto Landero hit a great ball. Antal Valentin scored 1-1 in the 77th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Ilias Seichanidis, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. An unexpectedly hard shot by Augusto Landero in the 80th minute of play forced Hungary's goalkeeper Fodor Daniel to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 81st minute, Nikos Kanetos hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The crowd rose to their feet as Major Barna kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Ilias Seichanidis. That made the score 1-2 in the 83 minute of play. Fodor Daniel showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Nasos Papadis, who was totally free with the ball in the 92nd minute. The ΟΦΗ supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Hungary's performance. The match ended with a win for Hungary.
