Natanael Vasaburu was shown his second yellow card after 12 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match. In the 12th minute, Natanael Vasaburu hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Aʀɴᴏʀ Fᴄ's Zenaido Vergas played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Santos Montel in the 13th minute of play. When Atlético Rio Cuarto's Santos Montel in 13 game minutes managed to cut through with the ball in front of the goal, only having to shoot. Zenaido Vergas guarding the goal like a pit bull was extremely focused and managed to reach the ball just by the crossbar before it went in. In the 14th minute, Zlatan Lewandowski hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Zenaido Vergas came out of the goal in the 17th minute to try and stop a shot by Atlético Rio Cuarto's Santos Montel. But to his dismay, Santos Montel quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-2. In the 19th minute, Zlatan Lewandowski hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Aʀɴᴏʀ Fᴄ's Zenaido Vergas played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Santos Montel in the 20th minute of play. Zenaido Vergas stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Santos Montel's shot from short distance in the 20th minute. The supporters of Aʀɴᴏʀ Fᴄ booed when Atlético Rio Cuarto was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 24 match minutes in a wonderful position. Paulo Ferrari didn't get a good kick on the ball. 25 minutes into the match, Aʀɴᴏʀ Fᴄ's Sebastiano Cañon sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Adolfo Abar narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 27th minute, Santos Montel left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Atlético Rio Cuarto fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-3. Zenaido Vergas took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Santos Montel, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Santos Montel in the 33rd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Zenaido Vergas prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Atlético Rio Cuarto's Romeo Peto managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by Zlatan Lewandowski in the 35 minute of the game. Atlético Rio Cuarto's attentive Paulo Ferrari managed to snatch the ball when Zlatan Lewandowski made a throw-in in the 36th minute of the game. In the 39th minute, Victor Hugo Aristizábal left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Aʀɴᴏʀ Fᴄ fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-3. Teodoro Cordarryl hit a great freekick 46 minutes into the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 47th minute, Victor Hugo Aristizábal managed to get in a good position for a shot. Aʀɴᴏʀ Fᴄ's supporters rose to their feet, but Victor Hugo Aristizábal was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Adolfo Abar breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After the first half Atlético Rio Cuarto were leading 1-3. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Santos Montel was the one to do the kick off. 52 minutes into the match, Aʀɴᴏʀ Fᴄ's goal looked a bit too open when Marcelo Roldan came free, but Zenaido Vergas reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 56th minute, Atlético Rio Cuarto's Santos Montel dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 1-4. Santos Montel sent away a hard shot on goal in the 63rd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Aʀɴᴏʀ Fᴄ's Zenaido Vergas played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Santos Montel in the 63rd minute of play. Santos Montel scored 1-5 in the 65th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Zenaido Vergas, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Zenaido Vergas made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Santos Montel in the 71st minute of play. In the 71st match minute, Atlético Rio Cuarto was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Marcelo Roldan to maneuver through the defense. Zenaido Vergas took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Santos Montel, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The audience was convinced that Santos Montel's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Zenaido Vergas was relentless in the 80th minute of the game. Santos Montels short, quick shot in the 83rdth minute got Zenaido Vergas to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. In the 94th minute Santos Montel shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Zenaido Vergas saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line.

When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. Atlético Rio Cuarto had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
