The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Ukko Niemi showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jandia Muda, who was totally free with the ball in the 13th minute. 18 minutes into the match, Manchester United FC's goalkeeper Ukko Niemi had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Joni Rahardjo. In the 19th minute Taito Tuulola shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Adrianus Tambunan saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 21st minute the ball was on its way in behind Putra Rewulu's goalkeeper Adrianus Tambunan, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Manchester United FC's Ukko Niemi played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Pär Goy in the 26th minute of play. 27 minutes into the match, Manchester United FC's goal looked a bit too open when Pär Goy came free, but Ukko Niemi reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Ukko Niemi took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jandia Muda, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Ukko Niemi made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jandia Muda in the 30th minute of play. Putra Rewulu were awarded a corner in the 34th minute after Manchester United FC's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Joni Rahardjo took the corner. Ukko Niemi made a fantastic save in the 35th minute, when Joni Rahardjo sent off a good shot on target. Adrianus Tambunan showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Taito Tuulola in the 39th minute of the match. Cefero Aya hit a great freekick 39 minutes into the match. Ukko Niemi made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Joni Rahardjo in the 43rd minute of play. In the 44th match minute, Manchester United FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Erik Cantona to maneuver through the defense. In the 45th match minute, Manchester United FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Roy Keane to maneuver through the defense. Ukko Niemi came out of the goal in the 47th minute to try and stop a shot by Putra Rewulu's Jandia Muda. But to his dismay, Jandia Muda quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-0. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Taito Tuulola to make the kick off. After a rather tough play, Putra Rewulu's Edyana Arbi got a free kick in the 58th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Pär Goy in the 61st minute of play forced Manchester United FC's goalkeeper Ukko Niemi to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Ukko Niemi didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Jandia Muda went, in the 68th minute, to the upper right corner, 2-0 was the resulting score. In the 74th minute Erik Cantona shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Adrianus Tambunan saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a rather tough play, Manchester United FC's Markus Laakso got a free kick in the 78th minute. Ukko Niemi showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Pär Goy, who was totally free with the ball in the 81st minute. When Manchester United FC's Erik Cantona in 93 game minutes managed to cut through with the ball in front of the goal, only having to shoot. Adrianus Tambunan guarding the goal like a pit bull was extremely focused and managed to reach the ball just by the crossbar before it went in. Putra Rewulu's Adrianus Tambunan played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Erik Cantona in the 95th minute of play.

Manchester United FC's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
