Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Gaudencio Hartz in the 15th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Manuel Collado prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 18th minute Isaac Lovo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gavino Belarmo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Metapalo FC's Gavino Belarmo proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 22nd minute of the match, managed to save Metapalo FC from getting a goal against them. An unexpectedly hard shot by Segundo Abecia in the 26th minute of play forced Barça Salvadoreño FC's goalkeeper Manuel Collado to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Metapalo FC's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Gaudencio Hartz in the 27th minute. The corner ended in Pablo Marmol almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Barça Salvadoreño FC's Manuel Collado did a great save. 33 minutes into the match, Segundo Abecia notched a goal, 1-1, to the right of Barça Salvadoreño FC's Manuel Collado. After 46 played minutes Barça Salvadoreño FC got a freekick which was hit by Isaac Zelaya. In the 47th minute Segundo Abecia shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Manuel Collado saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After the first half Metapalo FC were leading 1-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Lionel do Nascimento to make the kick off. In the 53rd minute, Metapalo FC's Pablo Marmol ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Manuel Collado. The crowd rose to their feet as Gaudencio Hartz kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Manuel Collado. That made the score 1-8 in the 88 minute of play. In the 91st minute, Eriberto Belarmo hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 94th minute of the match Barça Salvadoreño FC got a corner. Metapalo FC's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Lionel do Nascimento ran over to the corner to take the kick. The corner led Barça Salvadoreño FC's Lionel do Nascimento to fire away a dangerous shot which Gavino Belarmo despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball.

Metapalo FC's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
