In the 3rd match minute, Portugal was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Daniel Pimentel to maneuver through the defense. Wilson Amorim showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Valter Xabat in the 7th minute of the match. Portugal's Wilson Amorim played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Valter Xabat in the 10th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Valter Xabat in the 11th minute of play forced Portugal's goalkeeper Wilson Amorim to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 13 minutes had been played when some careless play by Portugal's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Manfred Kottsieper was slow to take the kick. During this time Alemannia Aachen's players had a chance to rest. Manfred Kottsieper made a great header on Alemannia Aachen's corner, it was just that Portugal's Wilson Amorim managed to reach the ball for a save. 17 minutes into the match, Alemannia Aachen's Valter Xabat sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Wilson Amorim narrowly saved just below the crossbar. After some careless play in the Portugal defense, Valter Xabat kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Wilson Amorim. The Portugal fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Wilson Amorim should have stopped the shot. Felipe Barreto received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 23rd minute. Jess Carnduff tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Jess Carnduff showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Felipe Barreto, who was totally free with the ball in the 28th minute. Jess Carnduff showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Felipe Barreto in the 29th minute of the match. In the 31st minute Viriato Moura shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jess Carnduff saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Felipe Barreto might have been able to make a better finish in the 35th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Jess Carnduff. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Felipe Barreto ran back to his position shaking his head. Jess Carnduff made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Caetano Moreira in the 37th minute of play. Jess Carnduff took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Daniel Pimentel, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 42nd minute Viriato Moura shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jess Carnduff saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The score stood at 1-1 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Valter Xabat to make the kick off. Jess Carnduff made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Felipe Barreto in the 56th minute of play. When Portugal's Viriato Moura in the 58th minute got a chance for a shot 58th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Alemannia Aachen's goalie prevented a goal. Portugal's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Felipe Barreto in the 59th minute. It was a well-played corner which Faustino Almeida managed to volley towards the net. Unfortunately, he didn't get a great hit on the ball and it went out into the grandstand. An unexpectedly hard shot by Valter Xabat in the 61st minute of play forced Portugal's goalkeeper Wilson Amorim to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 63 minutes into the match, Portugal's goal looked a bit too open when Valter Xabat came free, but Wilson Amorim reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 67thth minute of the game Valter Xabat who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Portugal's Wilson Amorim was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Aulis Salomaa kicked well hit freekick during the 70th minute of the match. Jess Carnduff was a little too slow when Felipinho Amorim got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 71st minute. The score was now 1-2. In the 75th minute, Valter Xabat ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Wilson Amorim was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-2. Valter Xabat took the ball and in the 85 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Wilson Amorim. Wilson Amorim dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 3-2. 89 minutes into the match, Portugal's goal looked a bit too open when Valter Xabat came free, but Wilson Amorim reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The supporters of Alemannia Aachen booed when Portugal was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 91 match minutes in a wonderful position. Bartolomeu Dias didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 94 minutes of play, Alemannia Aachen's Valter Xabat made it 4-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Wilson Amorim was left in no man's land by his defense there! The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. Alemannia Aachen had won after a very even match.
