But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Eduard Ganz couldn't finish the play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Major Barna in the 44th minute of play forced FC 08 Brühl's goalkeeper Connor Gebert to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The supporters of Hungary booed when FC 08 Brühl was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 45 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ilkay Gündoğan didn't get a good kick on the ball. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-1 lead.

Hungary's supporters rose to their feet, but Antal Valentin was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Connor Gebert breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick.
