Thanasis Koltsidas showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Omar Toledo in the 45th minute of the match. After the first half Spain were leading 0-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Vaggelis Mitsiou was the one to do the kick off. If David Aranda had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 54th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a rather tough play, Spain's Vicente Merino got a free kick in the 55th minute. Omar Toledo's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Thanasis Koltsidas firmly grabbed it by the left post. Thanasis Koltsidas stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Adria Bielsa's shot from short distance in the 61st minute. Carles Cherro's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 95thth minute, Thanasis Koltsidas skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. When the final whistle sounded Spain left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than AEK S.C.
