Denimir Bebin made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gijsbert ter Kruimer in the 20th minute of play. A well-hit corner resulted in Lars Meesters heading the ball towards the goal, but to his dismay he misdirected it and missed the goal completely. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The supporters of Netherlands booed when EK was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 26 match minutes in a wonderful position. Chico Messias didn't get a good kick on the ball. EK's Denimir Bebin played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gustaaf Groeneveldt in the 37th minute of play. İlbey Denizalp recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 43rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for İlbey Denizalp to strike the kick off in the second half. The crowd rose to their feet as Gijsbert ter Kruimer kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Denimir Bebin. That made the score 0-3 in the 52 minute of play. If David Eikelkamp had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 54th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Through an outstanding action, after 59 minutes, Denimir Bebin successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. After 60 minutes EK's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Gijsbert ter Kruimer who took care of the corner kick. Gustaaf Groeneveldt received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 93rd minute. Denimir Bebin tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Netherlands's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
