Greid Tinsmith showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Zaccheo Andolina in the 26th minute of the match. In the 29th minute Siricio Liotta shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Greid Tinsmith saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 30th minute Italy were awarded a corner. Sigfrido Auletta went to the cornerflag to take it. In the 32nd match minute, Doffes Damer was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Herbert Wincek to maneuver through the defense. 34 minutes into the match, Doffes Damer's goal looked a bit too open when Zaccheo Andolina came free, but Greid Tinsmith reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Italy's Flavio Vittori played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Inge Braa in the 37th minute of play. In the 40th minute of the game Herbert Wincek made a throw-in which Pier Kopacz played forward. When Zaccheo Andolina came up free with the goalie in the 45th minute, the Italy fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Zaccheo Andolina couldn't finish the play. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Inge Braa to make the kick off. The audience thought a goal was coming when Porziano Marchitelli got free with Greid Tinsmith in the 51st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Greid Tinsmith dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-2. The Doffes Damer fans' excitement grew in the 74th match minute when Doffes Damer's Ronaldo Cristi looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 2-2 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. After a rather tough play, Doffes Damer's Feliks Gniech got a free kick in the 82nd minute. Göran Vedholm struck a weak shot in the 92nd minute. Flavio Vittori didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Doffes Damer. After 96 played minutes Doffes Damer got a freekick which was hit by Kaj Lund.
