Arnout Reekers took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Silviano Huilcaman, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 7th minute Silviano Huilcaman shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Arnout Reekers saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The supporters of Netherlands booed when Club Atlético Magallanes was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 12 match minutes in a wonderful position. Fermin Quin didn't get a good kick on the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Gijsbert ter Kruimer in the 15th minute of play forced Club Atlético Magallanes's goalkeeper Jimeno Nevada to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Club Atlético Magallanes's Jimeno Nevada played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gijsbert ter Kruimer in the 18th minute of play. Gijsbert ter Kruimer received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 30th minute. Jimeno Nevada tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Jimeno Nevada made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gijsbert ter Kruimer in the 33rd minute of play. Netherlands's Arnout Reekers played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Silviano Huilcaman in the 39th minute of play. Arnout Reekers was out of position in the 39 minute of play, and Silviano Huilcaman capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Silviano Huilcaman really showed his touch with that goal: 1-1. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Gijsbert ter Kruimer to make the kick off. Thanks to some nice moves Gustaaf Groeneveldt could shoot a difficult shot in the 54th minute, which Jimeno Nevada however easily saved by the left post. Gustaaf Groeneveldt sent away a hard shot on goal in the 57th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Jimeno Nevada was a little too slow when Wim Wilmes got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 60th minute. The score was now 1-3. Club Atlético Magallanes made a substitution. Taci Argün replaced Samuel Pereira. 68 minutes into the match, Netherlands's goal looked a bit too open when Silviano Huilcaman came free, but Arnout Reekers reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Through an outstanding action, after 69 minutes, Jimeno Nevada successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. Arnout Reekers stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Taci Argün's shot from short distance in the 71st minute. Jimeno Nevada made a fantastic save in the 75th minute, when Gustaaf Groeneveldt sent off a good shot on target. When Taci Argün fell near the penalty area in the 77th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Club Atlético Magallanes's protests and gave Taci Argün a yellow card for diving instead. Taci Argün kicked well hit freekick during the 77th minute of the match. Jimeno Nevada made an important save on a dangerous shot by Wim Wilmes in the 80th minute. After a rather tough play, Club Atlético Magallanes's Erasmo Luke got a free kick in the 82nd minute. Jimeno Nevada acted impressively in front of the goal and made a superb save when he, in the 83rd minute, took the ball on the long shot from Gijsbert ter Kruimer. Wim Wilmes received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 84th minute. Jimeno Nevada tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 92 minutes of play, Club Atlético Magallanes's Gavino Rami made it 2-3 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Arnout Reekers was left in no man's land by his defense there! Netherlands's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
