Spectators: 50 (Terracing: 38, Seating: 11, VIP seats: 1) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Esteban Abadie kicked off to start the match. After having played for 3 minutes, Gustaaf Groeneveldt managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Netherlands's supporters crossed their fingers, but Gustaaf Groeneveldt was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Wim Wilmes might have been able to make a better finish in the 5th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Jeremias Abad. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Wim Wilmes ran back to his position shaking his head. Jeremias Abad showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Gustaaf Groeneveldt in the 6th minute of the match. When Wim Wilmes came up free with the goalie in the 7th minute, the Netherlands fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Wim Wilmes couldn't finish the play. 11 minutes had been played when some careless play by Internacional's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Gijsbert ter Kruimer was slow to take the kick. During this time Netherlands's players had a chance to rest. Netherlands's Egbert Nijveldt was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Jeremias Abad in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. Jeremias Abad made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gustaaf Groeneveldt in the 15th minute of play. If Wim Wilmes had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 16th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Gijsbert ter Kruimer in the 17th minute of play forced Internacional's goalkeeper Jeremias Abad to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Lars Meesters sent away a hard shot on goal in the 18th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Gijsbert ter Kruimer had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 21st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a defensive mix-up in Internacional's zone, Gijsbert ter Kruimer stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Jeremias Abad came out of the goal and Gijsbert ter Kruimer tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 26th minute the ball was on its way in behind Internacional's goalkeeper Jeremias Abad, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Wim Wilmes struck a weak shot in the 31st minute. Jeremias Abad didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Netherlands. 32 minutes into the game, Gustaaf Groeneveldt cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-1. Jeremias Abad was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Jeremias Abad took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gijsbert ter Kruimer, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Netherlands's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Gijsbert ter Kruimer in the 36th minute. When the match clock showed 41 minutes, the score became 0-3 when Lars Meesters sped through Internacional's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Jeremias Abad. David Eikelkamp received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 44th minute. Jeremias Abad tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere.

In the 51st minute, Gijsbert ter Kruimer ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Jeremias Abad was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-4. The crowd rose to their feet as Netherlands's Gustaaf Groeneveldt slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Jeremias Abad. That made the score 0-5 after 54 minutes of play. Jeremias Abad showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Gijsbert ter Kruimer, who was totally free with the ball in the 59th minute. With an all-out effort, Netherlands's Jeremias Abad threw himself towards the right post 61 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Gijsbert ter Kruimer, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Gustaaf Groeneveldt received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 66th minute. Jeremias Abad tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Gustaaf Groeneveldt scored 0-7 in the 68th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Jeremias Abad, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Rocendo Abar tried in the game's 79th match minute to clear up in front of his own goal but it went so bad that he put the ball into the goal to the left of an unhappy Jeremias Abad. An annoying self made goal, 0-8. Gijsbert ter Kruimer sent away a hard shot on goal in the 82nd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. In the 87th minute, Gijsbert ter Kruimer made a precise shot to the right of Jeremias Abad. Internacional's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-9. In the 90th minute, Internacional's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Gustaaf Groeneveldt fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post.
