When the match had gone on for 20 minutes, Major Barna put it in 0-1 from a short distance just to the right of Ruben Montez. 23 minutes into the match, Hungary's goalkeeper Fodor Daniel had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Marcelo Gallarde. Ruben Montez took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Antal Valentin, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Hungary's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Antal Valentin in the 25th minute. Antal Valentin made a great header on Hungary's corner, it was just that Hala Madrid Iraki FC's Ruben Montez managed to reach the ball for a save. The attack was good, but when Major Barna in the 26th minute was about to shoot he didn't kick quite good enough and the ball went high over goal. Takacs Tibor fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 32nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ruben Montez having to interfere. Ruben Montez stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Antal Valentin's shot from short distance in the 38th minute. When the match had gone on for 38 minutes, Antal Valentin put it in 0-2 from a short distance just to the right of Ruben Montez. In the 46th minute, Takacs Tibor ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Ruben Montez was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-3. After the first half Hungary were leading 0-3. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The wind increased when Rubinho Novaes made the kick off in the second half. Major Barna scored 0-4 in the 53rd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Ruben Montez, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. The corner ended in Antal Valentin almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Hala Madrid Iraki FC's Ruben Montez did a great save. 68 minutes into the match, Hala Madrid Iraki FC's goal looked a bit too open when Takacs Tibor came free, but Ruben Montez reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After a defensive mix-up in Hala Madrid Iraki FC's zone, Major Barna stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Ruben Montez came out of the goal and Major Barna tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Antal Valentins short, quick shot in the 78thth minute got Ruben Montez to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Hungary were awarded a corner in the 80th minute after Hala Madrid Iraki FC's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Antal Valentin took the corner. The audience thought a goal was coming when Antal Valentin got free with Ruben Montez in the 87th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Hala Madrid Iraki FC's Stefan Danielsson got a good chance for a goal in the 89th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Katona Janos's late challenge caught a Hala Madrid Iraki FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Katona Janos helped the player get up and apologised. After a rather tough play, Hungary's Katona Janos got a free kick in the 90th minute. Mats Hermansson took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 91st minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Fodor Daniel. Hungary's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. In the 92nd minute, Antal Valentin hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 96 minutes into the match, Ciro Di Marzio notched a goal, 1-4, to the right of Hungary's Fodor Daniel. Fodor Daniel was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Hungary eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
